KARACHI:

Investigators have been able to identify the route which the men - who attacked the Mobilink franchise near Hyderi Market took, but they remain clueless about their identities.

Two guards were critically injured in an attack on the franchise on Sher Shah Suri Road on Monday afternoon.

Two young men drove up to the shop and threw an explosive device at it.

Although the police obtained footages from four closed-circuit cameras installed at Sher Shah Suri Road but cannot identify the men.

The in charge of Hyderi police post, Fasihuddin, said, “The faces of both the men were covered. One wore a helmet while the other one who threw the explosive had his face covered.”

He added, “The footages could have been helpful if there had been less sunlight.” But the footage showed that the attackers came from Five Star Chowrangi and left via road going towards Hyderi Market. “The whole incident took only minutes,” said Fasihuddin.

The North Nazimabad police registered an FIR on the request of the security in charge of  the franchise, Manzar, against two unidentified men.

Manzar said that the franchise owners did not have any enmity nor were they threatened by anyone.

The investigators are also looking for information from the Shara-e-Noor Jahan police who are looking into the attack on a Telenor franchise less than two weeks ago. They too, haven’t been able to break the case.
