Water Supply: Rs845m project for renovating water services in upper Sindh

Money from ADB to renovate, improve water treatment plants, waste water plants in Sukkur, Khairpur Mirs, Shikarpur.

The North Sindh Urban Services Corporation (NSUSC) awarded Rs845 million for renovating and improving drinking water treatment plants and waste water facilities in Sukkur, Khairpur Mirs and Shikarpur.


The money was given from the $300 million loan provided by the Asian Development Bank for Sindh Cities Improvement Investment Programme.

The NSUSC spokesman and the manager of water services, Munim Domki, that Bunder Road and Numaish Gah Drinking Water Treatment Plants in Sukkur, Khaki Shah Water Treatment Plant in Khairpur Mirs will be reconstructed.

Besides this 13 water disposal stations in Shikarpur and Banarsi Disposal Station in Khairpur will be renovated.

The sewer system at Khairpur Mirs will also be renovated.

He said that around 150,000 households in Sukkur, Khairpur Mirs and Rohri will be able to get water 24 hours of the day after the project is completed. The work will probably begin from January.
