LAHORE:

Additional District and Sessions Judge Nadeem Shaukat on Wednesday issued notice to the Race Course station house officer (SHO) for December 29 to respond to a petition by Missal Khan seeking action against the officer for not providing a copy of the first information report (FIR) registered against former chief minister Dost Muhammad Khosa for the abduction and murder of actress Sapna Khan.

Missal Khan alleges that the former chief minister killed his daughter Sapna, who is Khosa’s ex-wife and has been missing since June. Various petitions regarding the case are in the courts, including a petition by Khosa claiming that Missal Khan is not really Sapna’s father.

In this petition, Khan has asked the court to take action against the SHO under Section 155-C of the Police Order of 2002 for not fulfilling his legal duty. The petitioner said that he had a right to a copy of the FIR, in which he is the complainant. He named the Lahore capital city police officer, the inspector general of Punjab Police as well as the SHO as respondents. He said that the police had not explained why they had sealed the FIR.

Khan said that the police were favouring Khosa. He said he was being “treated like an animal” for pursuing a criminal case against the former chief minister. He asked the court to order the SHO to give him a copy of the FIR.
