Imran Khan made this announcement while speaking to the media at the Allama Iqbal International Airport in Lahore, but pacified supporters by adding that the PTI will explore other options, such as legal action, to obtain permission for its public gathering in the metropolis.
Khan also said that the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP)-led coalition government might not complete its constitutional term and demanded that a neutral setup be formed for holding general elections in the country.
Khan said that the current crisis might not allow the government to complete its legal term. He said that only those governments which have public support have come out successful from crises. Khan criticized the PPP for “seeking support from US” in this regard, adding that it was unfortunate that the current government was taking this route.
He said that a neutral set-up in which no there is no involvement of any political figure, should be constituted soon.
Khan disclosed that many resignations were expected and asked the people of Pakistan to be mentally prepared as they would witness the resignations coming from other politicians.
Khan said that people have had enough of the old political parties which have failed to deliver for the betterment of people and said that they want to see PTI in power.
He said that corruption, inflation, dishonesty, poor law and order situation and bad governance are the setbacks of PPP-led government and PML-N's government in Punjab. He also said that leaderships of both parties are incompetent to address the basic issues of people.

The Waderay of Sindh think they own Karachi. That's the root of the problem with Karachi but people fail to see it b/c they only know what they hear, and what they hear is the gov't propaganda always. Karachiites wouldn't tolerate being treated like a wadera's property. They don't believe in feudalism and so they get hit with bori bund lashein. Zardari isn't gonna make it easy for PTI to come to KHI...even tough every single person in Karachi want a gov't change. It's funny how PMLN say they are against zardari BUT they were able to get the permission for the jalsa in Sindh a few days ago.
@Abid Insaaf: You are right. Imran Khan is our generations's Quaid-e-Azam.
IK youth are too with you
IMRan Khan zindabad....
@Maryam: Dear Maryam Nwaz, what about Ghulam Arrbab Rahim joining PMLN today? He was not in Q league or a turncoat? Height of hypocrisy.
@Maryam: He has talked about this topic.. search the net..
Change refers to "Changing of the System". If you can bring change with people purified by Aab-e-Zam Zam. Please introduce them and I will vote for them.
If you have a strong system, people will follow it. I simply wonder how can one even compare Imran with PPP and PMLN? This is the 8th wonder and believe me, the followers of PTI, change is evident now! Your Leader is being compared with the greatest politicans of the greatest people of the planet!
Critics of Imran Khan will support Bilawal, Hamza, Abdul Qadir, and the remaining foreign kids! This is the heritage they demand you to accept because they are not Turncoats and Lotas, they are fresh! Distilled with Aab-e-Zam Zam!
Your ultimate responsibility is to bring change with your vote and avoid being engaged in baseless views! This is the fear and fear will use all modes to demotivate you!
Government: Do whatever you like, I will come by every mean to mark my contribution for this country!
Imran Khan has emerged as a bigger leader than Muhd. Ali Jinnah.
@Maryam please answer us... for the last 15 years...\ik was being ignored coz of no electables and such figures in the party.... my question is...had you and folks like your mindset made him successfull then????????????? \ik was not given weight because of no electables and this time (according to you) he is supposed to be lacking support coz of having electables?????????????? what a logic?????????i cant understand it...please help me out
bogus tactics are being usd by govt to hinder in this grand gathering. but i believe that all their tools will go wrong against IK... go on IK we r with you
@All! Imran Khan said in a program that he needs over 1000 candidates. While Pakistan has 20,000 PhDs in Pakistan. If not all 20,00, at least 1000 will be capable enough to be a part of National, Provincial assemblies and Senate. A person who was against family politics is including individuals who are a part of strong family dynasties The best part is that after including such individuals, the guy is insisting to bring a massive change. Amazzzinnnggggg!!!
@Usman: Dear don't include Muhammad (PBUH) in any list of so called leaders. He is above all this politics and worldly competition. He was God's chosen and beloved the last prophet and messenger. Please do not equate him with ordinary humans you have listed.
@ Maryam being a jagirdar is no crime in islam. Had it been a crime then what about the clear law of inheritance in Quran. Usman ghani RA. was a big jagirdar It's just that our jagirdars are involved in atrocities. They use their wealth and power to keep the poor under their feet and we need to work on that, and this is what the revolution is, the poor having the same rights as that of the rich :) I hope you got my point.
What about his claim that 'agar jang bhi hui to mazar-e-quaid pe jalsa hoga....'!!! Why does he boasts so much???? Why such a sense of surity?
The Sindh govt is virtually helping PTI in garning more seats by denying or delaying the rally.
I am also supporter of P.T.I. and i am thankfull to imran khan who give us a good, intellegent, qualified and young ledership. he is going to be a good prime minister in history of pakistan (INSHA ALLAH). But i request to imran khan that plz dont accept corrupt and na ahal politishions who was Musharraf friend like khurshid mehmood qasori. P.T.I zindabad.
please have ur rally on Chelum & not on 25th Dec ok
@Maryam: Thank you for elaborating on who exactly turncoats are and why don't you give us a solution as well. Seeing as how Imran got like 5 or 6 people from other parties which apparently makes the entire party a turncoat carnival, I really don't understand your logic. I can guarantee you one thing if Imran didn't get so called heavy weights from other parties, then you'll be saying his party is filled with nobody. Anyway you want to slice it you will never support him and thats ok, you can get in line. I will end by saying we spew hatred and not realize how much the man has put into this work, divorced, made into pariah etc and still he has remained commited, so don't hate appreciate
Whatever the distractors say Imran Khan needs to be given a chance. Although other parties have the same kind of people in the 2nd and 3rd tier leadership as PTI now boasts of BUT PTI is lead by Imran Khan and not Zardari, Altaf, Nawaz, Fazal or Asfandyar. That, for me is a HUGEEEEE difference
Lets bring him in
@Maryam, could I ask you which party you will vote for in the next election please? Imran Khan to bohat bura hai, so of course you are going to vote for someone better. Please fill us in!
If IK is following ZAB's footsteps that may Allah have mercy on us.We all know ZAB's style of politics and the way he ruled this country.
@All: Let me accept that you all are correct and I am wrong. This will mean that, for example, Imran Khan is against the Jagirdars, Wadeeras, Sajjada Nasheens and Gadda Nasheens. Now you all are assuming that Imran Khan can bring a revolution against all these Qabza Groups of Pakistan by having these Jagirdars, Wadeeras, Sajjada Nasheens and Gadda Nasheens. I cannot digest this logic and so cannot digest what you all are thinking of Imran Khan. May be I am wrong but this never happened in the World History that a Jagirdar bring a revolution against a Jagridar. You all will be quite disappointed when Imran Khan will be a helpless in front of people like that of Shah Mahmood Qureshi et al. P.S: I am not a PML(N) symphatizer or payee but only a Pakistani and having stakes in Pakistan like you al.
@Maryam: I seriously think you just scream for attention. If you have political differences make a coherent argument for once, calling everybody "turncoats" is not an argument.
@Maryam: You cannot stop the tsunami sweetheart. Khan sahib has first alleviated the suffering of millions of cancer patients in Pakistan.. now he will amputate the political cancer being suffered by Pakistan.
Our history and misery is like a book full of lessons, but sadly we are a nation who doesnt like to learn.
The issue of turncoats is a very serious one. There are many, including myself at times, that get swayed away by Khan for various reasons including the hatred for the status-quo being a prominent one.
The Pirs / Makhdooms / Chaudhries who are the ruling class of our country have had ample of opportunities to do good. Now for a moment accept that they have really turned over a new leaf and are ready for a cursade against all the evils in our country. Shouldnt we atleast do a litmus test of their intentions before we allow them party tickets and run in the election just on face value and a few speeches? These fuedals own miles and miles of land and thousands of people as their followers. Shouldnt we base our support for them on the progress they have made in their so called 'Owned" lands?
Change must start from within, from our own house, from their own bank accounts, from their own grabbed lands. When Islam came to Mecca the first muslims right after were naturally converted ones; but then there were Munafiqs too who only agreed on face value.
Per my view, one of the core issues standing between Pakistan and Progress is the Fuedal system. If Khan has the parliment full of fuedals, how will he ever going to get any really work done? If these newly converted PTI folks can demonstrate that they are really concerned about the well being of Pakistani citizens, then please start with the land that you got, some by betryal and rest by force.
We must pressurize them to start now, not wait for the elections to show us how good and changed they really are.
I wish I could join there...but support of me & my whole family is with you Captain..waiting eagerly for Tsunami to reach Balochistan..
permission or no permission, we're still coming!
@Hafeez
Imran Khan is a bigger leader than Quaid e Azam, hands down! (Imran Khan has a lot of lifetime acheievements than Jinnah; Jinnah was just in the right place at a right time acting on Illama Iqbal's ideology)
Here's my top 10 list of all time leaders
1) Mohammad PBUH 2) Nelson Mandela 3) Ghandi / Iqbal 4) Che Guevara 5) Imran Khan 6) Martin Luther King 7) Quaid e Azam 8) John F Kennedy 9) Malcolm X 10) Winston Churchill
@Maryam: The point is that not all people in PML-N/PPP/MQM/ANP etc are bad. Even a decent person can become mislead under incompetent leadership. Everyone is welcome to join PTI as long as they accept the party's vision and ideology. When it comes to elections, PTI officials have stated numerous times that tickets will only be given to competent people who have been vetted for corruption, asset declaration etc. What else could anyone ask for?
@Maryam: Baji, you must be one of those Online warriors hired by PML N LOL.. always on top of PTI case!
Please think before you compare Imran Khan with Quaid e Azam Mohameed Ali Jinah. M.A. Jinnah had all the attributes desired in a Leader. Wisdom, Intelligence, Sincerity for the People, A broader Vision, Thinking out of the Box, etc., just to name a few. He did not spent his time criticizing others. He spent his time finding solutions for the misery of Muslims.
great leader imran khan in karachi i know big historic jalsa .... everybody see this historic jalsa....25dec 2011
@ET: Now if you try to not publish my comments in response to a bundle of comments targeted to me then where can I go and scream. Since when you have started to censor even political differences?
Get a life Khan
The 3 major political parties in karachi MQM, PPP & ANP are very scared of PTI,s popularity in karachi. Go to any University or College in karachi & U will see the support & strength of PTI. Karachiites badly need a party like PTI which can unite all the ethnic groups living in karachi under the umbrella of PTI. PTI welcome to karachi.
If govt don t alloy PTI for procession .., we record protest all over Pakistan.. that is real fact
@Omair Shakeel Multiple likes man!!! I think no elaboration needed for turncoats. Parties are afraid of PTI,not the turncoats...:) Support the one who is right and honest. Imran Khan we are with you....
IK youth are with you.
Maryam, I suggest you to please learn the meaning of "turncoats" maybe on dictionary.com? A man who resigned from his/her basic membership and from parliament and joining another party to start from ZERO, how can you call him a turncoat? again, please refer to dictionary.com...no offense!
All I want to say is that I can easily compare Imran with quaid e azam. Imran has same caliber and honesty as our Jinnah(may he rest in peace).please vote for Imran when election don't just support him with words.
@Maryam: Just because someone is/was a member of PPP/PML-N/MQM does not mean they are fundamentally evil people. Without competent leadership, even sensible people can become mislead. So PTI allows anyone to join as long as they are willing to accept the party's vision and ideology. With regards to elections, the party will only give tickets to individuals who have been vetted for corruption, tax fraud, asset declaration and criminal behaviour. What more can anyone ask for?
Perhaps I support you morally, and it will last until I find you clean but joining of other goats make me suspicious. I wish you'll not loose support by doing so. Good Luck Mr. Captain!
@Omair Shakil: Don't try to explain anything to her, she apparently learned a new word and wants to get it out of her system. Everytime there is a news item for imran "turncoat" is all she screams.
I'd rather look at the leadership instead. Are you saying people remaining in ppp and n-league are better than these turncoats? I really don't think so. Are you saying that other tried and tested leaders are better than khan? I don't think so! The thing is if you say khan is bad then even then go for the lesser evil!
@Maryam. If you were at the time of Holy Prophet (p.b.u.h) who would have called all the Muslims who converted into Islam as turncoats. If you talk about modern times, Jinnah used to be in Congress before he joined Muslim League. Was he a turncoat as well?
@Maryam: have some faith in the Skipper !!!
turncoats are those who keep changing their ideology, their aims.. not parties.. it is important to be loyal to an ideology, to your integrity and self esteem.. blind loyalty to any party is the way to compromise on your integrity.. pti represents a way for all those who believe in justice, humanity, truth and self respect.. for people who believe in these values, joining pti does not make them turncoats but rather, people who believe in themselves and in pakistan. imran khan all the way!
@ Maryam: If these "turncoats' are willing to mend their ways and follow the stringent rules laid down by PTI, I'm more than willing to vote for them. Would you rather vote for people (PPPP, PML-N) who expouse no remorse for, rather deny, their plunder?
Imran Khan and his party has my vote. He needs to be given an opportunity and InshAllah he'll demonstrate the same selflessness that he demonstarted for the realization of SKMH and Namal.
I believe he will get permission. Because tsunami cannot be stopped.
But how you will utilized the turncoats you have collected from PLM(Q), PML(N), PPP, ANP, JI et al? You never elaborate on that Mr skipper!
Not that I am a PTI supporter, but I wish Imran's words come true and we get rid of all these old political parties and their corrupt politicians. One can only hope!
