A 50-year-old general physician was shot dead inside his clinic on Friday night, said the Model Colony police. Dr Tariq was with a patient when two men barged in and asked the patient to give them his cell phone.
When the doctor tried to intervene, the men shot him. He was taken to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre. DSP Imdad Solangi told The Express Tribune that Dr Tariq’s clinic was called Tariq Clinic and was located near his house on Sheet No. 16 in Model Colony.
Initial investigations suggests that the doctor was killed in an attempted robbery. DSP Solangi said that according to the witness two men arrived at the clinic on a motorcycle. Dr Tariq was shot twice, once in his abdomen and then in the leg. The police claim that the doctor had no personal enmity with anyone. No case was registered when this report was filed.
