SUKKUR: A 10-year-old girl from Salehpat, who was forcibly married to a young man, was presented in the court on Tuesday after a medical check-up. Thul police had stopped the wedding after they were tipped off by a woman named Ashraf Khatoon, who lives in a nearby village, Kohri. The girl will be handed over to her mother and an uncle after legal formalities are over, while her father and the groom, Muhammad Yousuf, will remain in police custody. The girl’s mother, Husna, demanded protection because she believed that her life was in danger.
