Talus Village: 150 houses to be built for flood victims

UNDP in-charge says 150 houses comprising of one bedroom, a kitchen and a bathroom would be built for the victims.

SUKKUR: In the wake of floods in Talus Village in Ghanche District, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in collaboration with Pakistan Red Crescent Society and National Disaster Management Authority, have initiated a project to provide shelter to affected families. The project was inaugurated by Gilgit-Baltistan (G-B) Minister for Local Government and Rural Development Muhammad Ismail on Monday. The minister said that the government was striving to provide rehabilitation to people and for this purpose, each affected family would be given Rs100,000. The aid would be disbursed by Ghanche District Zakat Committee, Maarfi Foundation, G-B Cooperative Bank and other non-governmental organisations. The UNDP in-charge said that 150 houses comprising of one bedroom, a kitchen and a bathroom would be built for the victims.
