Security forces killed seven terrorists belonging to the Indian proxy group Fitna al Khawarij, while one soldier embraced martyrdom during an intelligence-based operation in Dera Ismail Khan, the military’s media wing said in a statement.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), security forces conducted the intelligence-based operation on December 15 in the general area of Kulachi, Dera Ismail Khan district, following reports of the presence of terrorists.

“During the operation, troops effectively engaged the Khawarij location, and after an intense exchange of fire, seven Khawarij were sent to hell. However, during the firefight, a brave son of the soil, Naik Yasir Khan, 34, resident of District Mardan, paid the ultimate sacrifice and embraced shahadah,” the statement said.

The ISPR said, weapons and ammunition were recovered from the Indian-sponsored terrorists, killed in the operation. The terrorists had remained actively involved in numerous terrorist activities in the area, it added.
The military said a sanitisation operation is underway to eliminate other Indian-sponsored Khawarij present in the area, as part of the ongoing counter-terrorism campaign under the vision of ‘Azm-e-Istehkam’, approved by the Federal Apex Committee under the National Action Plan.

“Security Forces and Law Enforcement Agencies of Pakistan will continue their operations at full pace to wipe out the menace of foreign-sponsored and supported terrorism from the country,” the statement said.

President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif commended security forces for a successful operation against Fitna al Khawarij in Dera Ismail Khan district.

In separate statements, both praised the professionalism of the security forces, saying the operation resulted in the elimination of seven terrorists.

President Zardari and PM Shehbaz also paid tribute to Naik Yasir Khan Shaheed, who embraced shahadah while defending the country. They described his sacrifice as a symbol of bravery and dedication to the motherland.

The leaders reaffirmed their resolve to continue efforts to eliminate terrorism and ensure lasting peace and security across the country.
