Paramount Pictures has released a new trailer for The Angry Birds Movie 3, offering a preview of the animated sequel ahead of its planned theatrical release on December 23 2026.

The trailer features the new song “Sun Showers” by BLACKPINK singer JISOO and introduces audiences to the next chapter in the lives of the familiar characters. John Rice is directing the film, with DNEG Animation handling the animation.

Jason Sudeikis returns as Red, alongside Josh Gad as Chuck, Rachel Bloom as Silver and Danny McBride as Bomb.

The voice cast also includes Emma Myers, Walker Scobell, Keke Palmer, Lily James, Tim Robinson and Psalm West, who is making his voice-acting debut.

The third film introduces Red and Silver’s growing family, with Red facing the challenges of fatherhood.

He must balance raising his three children with protecting the island from a threat that could destroy their home. The story combines the franchise’s established comedy and action with a new focus on family responsibilities.

The Angry Birds franchise began with the launch of the mobile game in 2009. Its central concept, involving birds using a slingshot to defeat pigs stealing their eggs, expanded into multiple games, merchandise, animated series and feature films.

The first two Angry Birds movies were released in 2016 and 2019, earning more than $500 million combined at the worldwide box office. Rovio’s licensing statistics also indicate that the mobile games have surpassed five billion downloads globally.

The Angry Birds Movie 3 is currently scheduled to open in cinemas on December 23 2026.
