Ex BIGBANG member Seungri reportedly expecting son in January amid marriage speculation
The singer addressed reports about his personal life after news of the pregnancy emerged a day earlier

Former BIGBANG member Seungri has confirmed that he is legally married and expecting a son in January 2027, while denying claims that the couple married because of the pregnancy.
In an interview with South Korean outlet Ilgan Sports on October 28, the singer, whose real name is Lee Seung-hyun, addressed reports about his personal life after news of the pregnancy emerged a day earlier.
"Since it is a private matter, I feel burdened to discuss details," he said. "My wife and I are, of course, legally married, and the claims that we married due to pregnancy is false. At present, I am not considering a wedding ceremony.”
His partner is a non-celebrity woman in her 20s, and the couple have reportedly settled in Seoul's Gangnam district.
Seungri also asked the public to respect his wife's privacy and avoid speculation about their relationship.
The announcement comes amid renewed attention surrounding the former singer's past and a separate legal complaint reported in August 2026.
A man in his 30s accused Seungri of aggravated assault following an argument at a Gangnam restaurant. Seungri acknowledged holding a liquor bottle but denied striking or threatening the man. No charges had been brought at the time of the report.
Seungri left BIGBANG and retired from the entertainment industry in 2019 amid the Burning Sun scandal, which involved investigations into allegations of sexual offences, drugs and other misconduct.
He was ultimately convicted on nine charges, including arranging prostitution and habitual gambling.
His 18-month prison sentence was upheld by South Korea's Supreme Court in May 2022, and he was released in February 2023 after completing his sentence.
