Barry Keoghan reveals cosmetic treatment after facing online abuse over his looks
Barry Keoghan reveals he feels better after skin-tightening treatment following online abuse over his appearance.

Barry Keoghan has revealed that he is undergoing a skin-tightening treatment after facing online abuse over his appearance, saying the procedure has helped him feel better about himself.
The Saltburn actor, 34, shared details of his experience with XERF, a non-invasive cosmetic procedure that uses radiofrequency technology to tighten skin and stimulate collagen production. The treatment does not involve needles or topical numbing, according to the report.
In a video posted on October 23 by Nilam Holmes, owner of Dermaspa, Keoghan spoke positively about the experience and the care he receives during his visits.
“I feel better about myself,” he said. “I look better. I think it’s important to look after yourself inside and outside.”
Footage showed Keoghan lying on a treatment table as Holmes used a device on his cheeks, nose and jawline. Holmes said she had been working with the actor for some time, helping care for his skin during different films, campaigns and projects. She also noted that the recorded session was his second XERF treatment.
The revelation comes months after Keoghan discussed the impact of hurtful comments about his looks. During a March appearance on SiriusXM’s The Morning Mash Up, he said online criticism had made him withdraw from public life and avoid attending events.
“There’s a lot of abuse of how I look,” he said, explaining that the commentary had affected his confidence and made him reluctant to go outside.
Keoghan also previously deactivated his Instagram account in 2024. He later acknowledged that he sometimes still checks online reactions to his public appearances, despite finding the comments upsetting.
The actor is currently working on major film projects, including Matt Reeves’ The Batman: Part II and Sam Mendes’ upcoming Beatles biopics. He is set to portray drummer Ringo Starr in the films, alongside Harris Dickinson, Paul Mescal and Joseph Quinn.
