Presley Gerber’s family mourns his death at 27 as Cindy Crawford, Rande and Kaia Gerber ask for privacy

Presley Gerber’s parents, Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber, and his sister, Kaia Gerber, are mourning his death at the age of 27.

The model died on September 20 at a rehabilitation facility, according to the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner. An autopsy has been completed, but his cause of death has been deferred. His family confirmed his death and requested privacy during the difficult time.

A source close to Kaia told PEOPLE that the family is “in total shock” and “saddened beyond words” following Presley’s death. Another source who has been close to Crawford said the family remained consistently supportive of Presley throughout his struggles.

Presley had spoken publicly about his mental health and substance use in recent years. In November 2025, he launched a social media series called “Mental Health Mondays”, aiming to encourage more open conversations about mental health.

His family also supported his efforts to discuss his experiences publicly. In June, Presley attended a mental health-focused event in Malibu with Crawford and Rande, where he spoke about vulnerability and his personal journey.

Kaia also discussed her brother’s struggles with addiction in an August interview with Vogue, describing him as a “teacher” because of his openness about his experiences.

Presley, who was 27 at the time of his death, was the only son of Crawford and Rande. He followed his mother and sister into modelling, signing with DNA Models at 15 and later working with several major fashion brands. He also appeared alongside Crawford in a Pepsi Super Bowl commercial in 2018.

As the family mourns Presley, those close to them say his efforts to encourage open conversations about mental health remain an important part of how he is remembered.
