Taylor Frankie Paul leaves 'The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives' amid legal issues and criticism from castmates

Taylor Frankie Paul has announced that she is stepping away from Hulu’s The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives following months of legal controversy and public disputes with cast members.

Paul announced her decision in an Instagram post on September 21, according to Variety. She thanked the networks that had supported her return to the reality series but said she no longer wanted to move forward with the show.

In the post, Paul also criticised some of her castmates, accusing them of bullying and saying that comments involving her children were “disgusting”. She said she had previously been willing to leave the series so production could continue with less tension.

The announcement comes after reports that Paul allegedly failed a court-ordered drug test during ongoing custody disputes involving her former partners, Dakota Mortensen and Tate Paul. Paul did not address the allegation in her Instagram statement, while Hulu and her representatives had not immediately responded to requests for comment.

Paul was ordered to take the test following a Utah court ruling in July. The results were initially placed under a protective order and were not publicly available. Tate Paul later filed court documents seeking to have the results unsealed.

The legal disputes began after Paul and Mortensen made domestic violence allegations against each other in March. Their relationship also became the subject of a separate video showing a physical altercation. Neither faced criminal charges, while a court granted mutual restraining orders.

Paul’s departure also follows disagreements among the cast over her planned return. Mikayla Matthews announced she had left the show, while Mayci Neeley and Layla Taylor expressed uncertainty about their futures.

Season 5 of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives premiered on September 10, while Season 6 has been filming without Paul since July.
