RuneScape: Dragonwilds is now available on Nintendo Switch 2, marking franchise’s first console release

RuneScape: Dragonwilds is now available on consoles, marking the first time a RuneScape game has launched on a console platform in the franchise’s 25-year history.
Jagex has released the launch trailer for RuneScape: Dragonwilds, offering a final look at the open-world survival and crafting game.
The title is now available on Nintendo Switch 2 and other supported platforms, with cross-play included across all console editions.
RuneScape: Dragonwilds is a separate experience from the RuneScape MMORPG. Players can explore the continent of Ashenfall either alone or in teams of up to four players, travelling through different biomes and regions while using the area’s anima-rich magic.
The game combines survival, crafting, exploration and combat, with players able to use magic to gather resources, create equipment and build shelters.
The world also features familiar RuneScape creatures alongside new enemies, including Zogres, Black Knights and the Garou.
Dragonwilds has received several major content updates during its Early Access period, including Fellhollow, Dowdun Reach and Umbral Sands. The console versions include all content previously released during Early Access.
The launch also introduces the Scorned Wilderness update across all platforms. The update brings the game’s opening narrative, the Kuldra Saga, to its conclusion.
Players can develop skills, complete quests and explore Ashenfall while pursuing the Dragon Queen. The game also incorporates anima-powered abilities that can be used during exploration, combat and resource gathering.
Among the abilities available are a spectral axe for cutting trees, magical movement, transforming bones into peaches and using spells to affect resources and the environment.
Jagex has also highlighted community involvement as an important part of Dragonwilds, with player feedback intended to help shape the game’s future development.
