Marcello Hernández hilariously invites Zendaya and Tom Holland to dinner at 2026 Emmys

The ‘Saturday Night Live’ star also invited Harrison Ford, Oscar Isaac and Matthew McConaughey to dinner

Marcello Hernández turned his first Emmy Awards appearance into an unexpected celebrity dinner invitation spree when he called out several Hollywood stars from the stage.

The Saturday Night Live star presented Outstanding Directing for a Comedy Series at the 78th Primetime Emmy Awards on September 14, where Hiro Murai won for Widow’s Bay. Before announcing the winner, Hernández decided to use his moment on stage to invite several famous guests to dinner at his home.

Hernández first addressed Harrison Ford, calling the veteran actor a legend and an inspiration before offering him an invitation. Ford appeared somewhat surprised by the unexpected proposal as Hernández continued his celebrity roll call.

The comedian then turned his attention to Zendaya, who was nominated for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series for Euphoria. Hernández admitted that he had seen her and wanted to play it cool but could not resist saying hello.

"I wanna say hi to Zendaya! You’re a beast and you’re amazing," Hernández said before inviting Zendaya and her husband, Tom Holland, to his house for dinner. He referred to Holland as "Spider Man" during the playful invitation.

Hernández did not stop there. He also singled out Oscar Isaac, who was nominated for his work in Beef. The Saturday Night Live performer joked that they could be cousins because Isaac’s real surname is Hernández, before promising to cook whatever Isaac wanted at Christmas.

Matthew McConaughey was the final celebrity Hernández addressed. Recalling advice from his Cuban aunt, he joked about her telling him that hard work could eventually lead to him meeting the actor.

The unusual sequence quickly became one of the lighter moments of the ceremony, with Hernández turning a formal presentation into an impromptu invitation list. For Zendaya and Holland, the offer came during a night when Zendaya was among the evening’s major acting nominees.

The 2026 Emmys took place at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, with the ceremony airing on NBC and Peacock.
