Cindy Crawford breaks down the decision that led her to pose for Playboy
Cindy Crawford discusses Playboy, Kaia Gerber, Rande Gerber and life as an empty nester in a new interview

Cindy Crawford has opened up about her modelling career, daughter Kaia Gerber, her marriage to Rande Gerber and life as an empty nester in a new interview.
The 60-year-old supermodel is the latest cover star of PORTER, where she reflected on several defining moments in her career, including her decision to pose for Playboy.
Crawford said her priority when she first posed for the magazine was having control over the images. She recalled asking for approval of the photographs and retaining the ability to stop the story if she was unhappy with the result. She said she continues to stand by the decision, noting that it led to opportunities with brands and platforms that reached wider audiences beyond fashion.
The model also addressed comparisons between herself and Kaia Gerber, saying she does not find them irritating. Crawford acknowledged that having a famous parent comes with both benefits and challenges for Kaia, adding that she enjoys the opportunities they have had to work together.
Crawford also discussed her relationship with husband Rande Gerber as their children have grown up and the couple adjust to being empty nesters. She said the new stage has given them an opportunity to redefine their relationship and consider how they want to spend their time together.
Reflecting on her own upbringing, Crawford praised her mother for maintaining a positive outlook despite difficult circumstances. She said her mother's approach also influenced how she parents her adult children, particularly by learning to step back and avoid giving advice unless it is requested.
Crawford also described herself as someone who took opportunities rather than following a fixed career plan.
