Two navy personnel martyred while performing patrolling duties at sea: DGPR Navy

Two Pakistan Navy personnel were martyred while performing patrolling duties at sea to ensure security, the Navy’s Directorate-General of Public Relations (DGPR) said on Wednesday.

In a post on X, the DGPR Navy stated that Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf expressed deep sorrow over the loss of Shoaib ur Rehman (PMA-IV) & Ghufran Nasar (PMT-II).

It added that senior officials of the Pakistan Navy attended the funeral of the martyred and met their families.

 

On September 8, President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif paid tribute to the officers, sailors and civilian personnel of the Pakistan Navy on the occasion of Pakistan Navy Day, commemorating the force's "determination, courage and professional excellence" over the decades.

He also referenced Operation Muhafiz-ul-Bahr, launched amid ongoing conflict in the Middle East, through which the navy worked to protect Pakistan’s energy security and economic lifelines by ensuring the continued flow of sea-borne energy supplies.
