'2 Broke Girls' stars Kat Dennings and Beth Behrs reunite on 'Shifting Gears'
Kat Dennings and Beth Behrs reunite for 'Shifting Gears' season 3, bringing the former '2 Broke Girls' stars together

Kat Dennings and Beth Behrs are reuniting on screen, years after starring together in the hit CBS sitcom 2 Broke Girls. Behrs is set to guest star in the upcoming third season of ABC’s Shifting Gears, which stars Dennings.
Behrs will play Dr. Johnson, a beautiful emergency room doctor who treats Riley, played by Dennings, after she suffers a back injury. The guest appearance also reunites Behrs with Shifting Gears showrunner and executive producer Michelle Nader, who previously worked as a co-showrunner and executive producer on 2 Broke Girls.
The Shifting Gears season 3 casting marks another reunion for the ABC comedy, which has previously brought several stars from Tim Allen’s past projects into its ensemble. The show was renewed for a third season in April and is scheduled to return in 2027.
Alongside Dennings and Allen, the sitcom stars Seann William Scott, Daryl “Chill” Mitchell, Maxwell Simkins and Barrett Margolis. The series follows Matt, a stubborn widower and classic car restoration shop owner whose life changes when his estranged daughter Riley and her children move into his home.
Season 2 featured several of Allen’s former Home Improvement co-stars, including Patricia Richardson, Richard Karn and Debbe Dunning. Nancy Travis, who previously worked with Allen on Last Man Standing, also appeared in the season.
2 Broke Girls ran for six seasons on CBS, with Dennings and Behrs starring as Max Black and Caroline Channing. Following the sitcom, Behrs starred in The Neighborhood, which concluded its eighth and final season earlier this year.
Her other credits include Monsters University and Hello, My Name Is Doris. She also hosts the podcast Harmonics.
