BLACKPINK’s Jennie faces edited video claims as agency announces legal action
OA Entertainment has announced legal action over alleged manipulated videos, false claims and privacy violations

BLACKPINK member Jennie’s agency, OA Entertainment, has announced legal action over alleged maliciously edited videos, false information and posts that it says violate the singer’s privacy and personal rights.
The agency said on August 18 that it had identified an ongoing spread of “baseless slander” and manipulated photos and videos involving Jennie across online communities and social media.

“We take such infringements on our artists’ rights very seriously,” OA Entertainment said, adding that it was monitoring posts, collecting evidence and working with legal representatives to pursue civil and criminal action in serious cases.
The agency specifically addressed content that allegedly alters Jennie’s physical features, repeatedly circulates selected scenes or attaches insulting comments and false information to photos and videos.
“We make it clear that we will not offer any settlements or leniency in this process,” the agency stated.
OA Entertainment also thanked fans for reporting suspected violations, saying their submissions had helped identify relevant material and protect Jennie’s rights.
It urged fans to continue reporting similar content.
The announcement follows Jennie’s performance at Summer Sonic 2026 in Japan on August 14.
After the appearance, footage circulated online that appeared to show partial exposure of the singer’s body. However, the authenticity of the footage has not been confirmed.
Jennie recently completed a three-month festival run, performing at major events including Governors Ball, Roskilde Festival, Open’er Festival, Mad Cool Festival, Lollapalooza Chicago and Summer Sonic.
Reflecting on the period, Jennie said, “Not everything was perfect, and perhaps it wasn’t meant to be.” She added, “Even the more difficult moments taught me a lot and helped me grow, so I am thankful.”
