Power bills cost19 police personnel their quarters
Garden Police Lines allotments cancelled over unpaid electricity dues

Sindh Police has cancelled the official housing allotments of 19 personnel residing in Garden Police Lines over non-payment of electricity bills and ordered them to vacate their government quarters immediately, according to official documents.
The action comes after authorities decided to enforce strict measures against police employees who failed to clear outstanding electricity dues, amounting to millions of rupees.
According to official documents, the affected personnel were found in violation of government housing allotment policies due to non-payment of utility bills. Copies of the cancellation orders have surfaced, confirming that the officers have been directed to hand over possessions of their residences to the Estate Management Branch without delay.
The move follows a report submitted by the SP Headquarters South, which prompted Additional Inspector General Karachi to take serious notice of the matter. The officials facing action include head constables, assistant sub-inspectors (ASIs), and constables residing in government quarters at Garden Police Lines.
In a parallel measure, authorities have also ordered salary deductions from police personnel identified as major defaulters of electricity bills owed to K-Electric. The unpaid dues reportedly run into tens of millions of rupees.
The orders, issued by the DIG Administration, have made compliance mandatory, with police authorities warning of further action in cases of non-compliance.
