KARACHI:

The Sindh government has formally notified a 7.05% increase in water and sewerage charges of the Karachi Water and Sewerage Corporation (KWSC) for the fiscal year 2026-27.

According to a notification published in the Sindh Government Gazette on August 10, the revised tariff is based on the average Consumer Price Index (CPI) and will be applicable retrospectively from July 1, 2026. The KWSC Board had approved the 7.05% increase in water and sewerage charges for both retail and bulk consumers for the new fiscal year. The govt subsequently incorporated the revised rates into the official gazette. Under the new tariff, monthly water and sewerage charges for residential properties have been determined according to plot size.
