Comedian Kathy Griffin is recovering at home after being hospitalized due to complications following a routine colonoscopy, prompting an outpouring of support from fans online.

The Emmy Award-winning star shared an update via Instagram, revealing that she spent a night in the hospital after the procedure did not go as planned. Griffin confirmed she is now back home and resting with her dogs, whom she affectionately referred to as her “around-the-clock canine nurses.”

“Well, the sound got screwed up, but I made this video for you guys because I’m TMI anyway,” Griffin wrote. “I spent the night in the hospital because I had complications from my colonoscopy… I am at home now with the doggies where I belong.”

Fans quickly flooded the comments with messages of encouragement and relief, praising her candidness and humor despite the health scare. Griffin, 65, responded to several supporters, maintaining her trademark comedic tone and assuring them she was doing better.

The update comes as Griffin continues to be open about her long history of health challenges. In recent years, she has spoken publicly about undergoing treatment for Complex PTSD, addiction struggles, vocal cord surgery, and a Stage I lung cancer diagnosis in 2021, for which she had part of her lung removed.

Despite these challenges, Griffin has remained active in her career, continuing to perform stand-up and connect with audiences. She is currently scheduled to begin her “New Face, New Tour” later this year, with appearances planned across the United States.

Fans have praised her resilience and transparency, with many expressing continued support as she recovers and prepares to return to the stage.
