‘Vought Rising’ trailer unveils the bloody origins of Vought
Prime Video releases first trailer for ‘Vought Rising,’ the 1950s-set prequel to ‘The Boys’ exploring Vought’s origins

Prime Video has released the first trailer for “Vought Rising,” the upcoming prequel series to “The Boys,” offering fans an early look at the origins of the powerful and controversial Vought corporation.
Set in the 1950s, the new spin-off stars Jensen Ackles reprising his role as Soldier Boy alongside Aya Cash as Stormfront. The series will explore the early days of Vought and the rise of Compound V, the substance responsible for creating superheroes in the franchise’s universe. According to the trailer, the show blends noir-inspired storytelling with the violent and satirical tone that made “The Boys” a global hit.
The cast also includes Will Hochman as Torpedo, Mason Dye as Bombsight, and Elizabeth Posey as Private Angel. The story has been described as a dark murder mystery set against the backdrop of post-war America, diving into corruption, media influence, and secret experimentation.
Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, series creator Eric Kripke said the show would maintain the franchise’s sharp social satire while exploring a grittier version of 1950s America. Kripke noted that themes such as weaponized religion, media manipulation, and corporate power remain central to the story despite the historical setting.
Ackles also teased that viewers would see a different side of Soldier Boy compared to his appearance in “The Boys.” Unlike the original series, where the character struggled in a modern world, “Vought Rising” places him in his own era and explores the events that shaped his personality.
The series is produced by Amazon MGM Studios and Sony Pictures Television. According to The Hollywood Reporter, “Vought Rising” is expected to expand the franchise’s mythology ahead of the conclusion of “The Boys.”
