Is Asmongold connected to Nina Lin’s Twitch arrest controversy?

Twitch streamer Nina Lin has claimed she spent a night in jail after being arrested over the alleged theft of a $4 pair of scissors, while also suggesting that fellow creator Asmongold played a role in how the situation escalated.

According to a report by Dexerto, Lin addressed the incident during a livestream, explaining that she was arrested after a self-checkout mix-up at a store where she failed to properly scan one item while rushing through her purchases. She said the missing item was a pair of scissors, which led to the theft allegation.

Lin insisted the incident was accidental, claiming she had scanned most of her items but struggled to find the barcode on certain products. She added that she would have paid for the item if asked to correct the mistake.

The streamer said that while an officer she spoke to appeared to understand the situation and treat it as a misunderstanding, a store employee reportedly insisted she be taken to the precinct, escalating the matter further.

During her livestream, Lin also alleged that the employee’s reaction may have been influenced by online discussions involving Asmongold, a fellow streamer who has previously commented on her content and actions. She suggested the staff member was aware of his criticisms, though she did not provide evidence for the claim.

Lin said she ultimately spent the night in jail and is expected to appear in court at a later date. She also referenced previous controversies, including earlier incidents involving accusations of theft during livestream-related activities.

The situation has sparked renewed discussion within the streaming community about accountability, livestream behavior, and the influence of online personalities on real-world consequences.
