Kiefer Sutherland has cancelled the United States leg of his upcoming music tour, citing very low ticket sales and concerns over playing to underfilled venues. The decision follows a period of live performances across Europe, where the actor and musician had been promoting his fourth studio album, Grey, to steady audiences and receiving a more positive touring response.

In a statement shared on social media, Sutherland explained that the cancellation was made out of fairness to both fans who purchased tickets and the venues scheduled to host the shows. He noted that performing in significantly empty venues was not an experience he wished to deliver, emphasising respect for those who had already committed financially. He also confirmed that refunds would be available through the original points of purchase, ensuring that ticket holders would not be left out of pocket following the decision.

The United States tour had been planned as a continuation of his international promotion of Grey, an album he has described as his most personal work to date. The record reflects a shift in his songwriting approach, with a greater focus on personal reflection and lived experience rather than observational storytelling. It marks his fourth studio release as he continues to build a parallel career in country influenced music alongside his long established acting career.

Sutherland, widely known for his role as Jack Bauer in 24 and appearances in projects such as Designated Survivor, has spent recent years balancing screen work with music performances. His European tour included multiple stops across different countries, where he publicly thanked audiences for their reception and support during live shows.

In previous interviews, he has acknowledged the challenges that come with transitioning from acting to music, including public scepticism. Despite that, he has continued to perform and record, stating that music has been a long standing part of his life since his teenage years.

The cancellation of the United States dates leaves his immediate touring schedule uncertain, although he has indicated optimism about returning in the future when conditions feel more suitable. For now, his focus remains on promoting Grey and completing remaining commitments tied to the album cycle.
