Netflix confirms ‘Bridgerton’ season 5 release window for 2027
Netflix confirms 'Bridgerton' season 5 arrives in 2027 with Francesca and Michaela's romance taking center stage soon

Netflix has officially confirmed that Bridgerton Season 5 will premiere in 2027, marking a quicker turnaround for the hit period drama after previous two-year gaps between seasons.
The announcement was made during Netflix’s 2026 Upfronts presentation in New York by the streamer’s chief content officer, Bela Bajaria. Production on the upcoming season began earlier this year in the United Kingdom, with the new episodes set to continue adapting Julia Quinn’s bestselling romance novels.
Season 5 will centre on Francesca Bridgerton, played by Hannah Dodd, and her evolving relationship with Michaela Stirling, portrayed by Masali Baduza. According to Netflix’s official synopsis, Francesca returns to London’s marriage market two years after the death of her husband John Stirling. However, the arrival of Michaela leads her to question whether to follow societal expectations or her true feelings.
The upcoming instalment follows Season 4, which focused on Benedict Bridgerton and Sophie Baek, played by Luke Thompson and Yerin Ha. Earlier seasons highlighted the romances of Daphne, Anthony and Colin Bridgerton.
Netflix previously renewed the series for Seasons 5 and 6 in 2025, ensuring more stories from the Bridgerton family will continue. Future seasons are expected to spotlight remaining siblings including Eloise Bridgerton, Gregory Bridgerton and Hyacinth Bridgerton.
Since debuting in 2020, Bridgerton has remained one of Netflix’s biggest global television franchises, consistently dominating streaming charts and social media discussions.
