Marvel’s Wolverine set for September 2026 release, Insomniac confirms
Insomniac Games says Marvel’s Wolverine remains on track for September 2026 release on PlayStation 5

Insomniac Games has confirmed that Marvel’s Wolverine is scheduled to launch on September 15 2026, for PlayStation 5.
The studio shared the update through social media on May 7, reaffirming the release window after an extended period with limited updates on the project’s development.
The upcoming action-adventure title will feature Logan in a standalone original story separate from established comic book storylines.
According to reports, the game’s narrative will follow Wolverine across multiple locations, including Tokyo, the Canadian wilderness and Madripoor.
Insomniac Games has reportedly designed the title to deliver a darker tone than its previous Marvel projects, including the Spider-Man series.
The gameplay is expected to focus heavily on third-person melee combat, with developers reportedly aiming for a more brutal and visceral representation of Wolverine’s fighting style.
Reports suggest the game will place emphasis on close-quarters combat and cinematic action sequences centred around the character’s signature claws and regenerative abilities.
The release timing also positions Marvel’s Wolverine ahead of the planned launch of Grand Theft Auto VI later in the year. The September release window could allow Sony and Insomniac Games to establish momentum for the title before other major releases arrive during the holiday season.
Insomniac Games has opened wishlisting for Marvel’s Wolverine on the PlayStation Store, though pre-orders have not yet been made available.
The studio said it intends to reveal more gameplay footage before opening pre-orders, with a more detailed gameplay presentation reportedly expected later this spring.
Marvel’s Wolverine was first announced in 2021 and remains one of PlayStation’s most anticipated upcoming exclusives.
