Ariana Grande announces new single from upcoming album 'Petal'
Ariana Grande releases first 'Petal' single Hate That I Made You Love Me on May 29 ahead of July album drop

Ariana Grande has announced the lead single from her upcoming eighth studio album Petal, titled Hate That I Made You Love Me.
The track is set for release on May 29, ahead of the full album launch scheduled for July 31 via Republic Records, according to Variety.
Grande described the song as “one of my favorite songs that I’ll ever write,” sharing her excitement for fans to finally hear it. The track was co-produced by longtime collaborators Ilya Salmanzadeh and Max Martin, alongside Grande herself. Both producers previously worked with her on her 2024 album Eternal Sunshine.
In her announcement, Grande said she “cannot wait for it to be yours,” highlighting the personal significance of the new release. The single marks the first official preview of Petal, an album she has co-written and executive produced with Ilya.
Grande has described Petal as a project centered on growth and resilience, calling it “something full of life and growing through the cracks of something cold, hard and challenging.” The album follows her recent creative output, including her work on the Wicked film project and the deluxe edition of Eternal Sunshine released in 2025.
The upcoming album also arrives as Grande prepares for a new tour, which she previously suggested could be one of her last for an extended period. She has hinted at stepping back from large-scale touring after this era, describing the upcoming shows as a “last hurrah.”
With Petal on the horizon, anticipation is building for what could be one of Ariana Grande’s most personal and reflective eras to date.
