Apple executive expects 'F1' movie sequel after strong box office performance
Apple hints at 'F1' movie sequel following $630 million box office success and strong critical reception

Apple has indicated that a sequel to the F1 movie is expected following the strong global performance of the original film.
The racing drama, which starred Brad Pitt, Damson Idris, Kerry Condon and Javier Bardem, has earned more than $630 million worldwide.
The film was widely received across both audiences and critics, with an 82 per cent rating on Rotten Tomatoes from critics and 97 per cent from viewers.
It also received an Academy Award nomination for Best Picture and won Best Sound for its racing sequences.
Apple senior vice president Eddy Cue spoke at the Miami Grand Prix about the film’s impact on the company’s streaming platform. When asked about the possibility of a sequel, he said, “I hope and expect there will be one.”
The film’s performance has been viewed as a strong commercial success for Apple’s film division, with industry attention now turning to whether the story will continue in a second instalment.
While the company has not released detailed streaming figures, Cue stated that the film had contributed to increased engagement on the platform.
The original film’s success has also strengthened Apple’s broader relationship with Formula 1.
The company currently holds exclusive streaming rights for F1 races in the United States and has signalled interest in expanding its sports broadcasting portfolio to additional regions.
Cue also suggested that Apple could explore further Formula 1 rights in other territories, drawing comparisons to its global partnership strategy with Major League Soccer.
