Peter Jackson, Cate Blanchett and Tilda Swinton are set to take part in a series of special conversations at the 2026 Cannes Film Festival, highlighting the careers and influence of three major figures in contemporary cinema.

According to Variety, the three filmmakers and actors will each headline separate “Rendez-vous” discussion events during the festival, offering audiences in-depth reflections on their careers and creative journeys.

Peter Jackson is scheduled to open the series shortly after being honored with a special recognition at Cannes. His conversation will focus on his filmmaking legacy, including his work on The Lord of the Rings trilogy and other major projects that reshaped modern blockbuster cinema.

Cate Blanchett will also take part in a dedicated session, reflecting on her extensive career across independent and mainstream films. The Oscar-winning actor has long been a Cannes regular and previously served as Jury President at the festival.

Tilda Swinton will likewise headline her own conversation event, where she is expected to discuss her wide-ranging body of work spanning experimental cinema and major international productions.

The “Rendez-vous” series is designed to give festival audiences closer access to leading voices in global cinema, offering rare public discussions with filmmakers and actors who have shaped the industry over several decades.

The 2026 Cannes Film Festival continues its tradition of pairing film screenings with high-profile industry conversations, underscoring its role as both a cultural showcase and a platform for cinematic dialogue.
