Barbie Ferreira is stepping into a new phase of her career following her departure from Euphoria, with upcoming projects Faces of Death and Mile End Kicks marking a shift toward more diverse roles.

In an interview with Deadline, Ferreira admitted she was initially worried that Faces of Death might never be released, given the controversy surrounding the original film. “You could shoot a whole movie, and it doesn’t even come out,” she said, adding that she feared the project might be shelved or censored due to its subject matter.

The actress stars as Margot in the horror reimagining, which follows a content moderator who uncovers disturbing online videos that blur the line between fiction and reality. The film, directed by Daniel Goldhaber, finally hit theaters in April 2026 after being filmed years earlier.

Ferreira also spoke about her experience working with Charli xcx, who makes her acting debut in the film. She described it as “really fun” seeing the pop star step into a completely different environment, away from the glamour of the music world and into the demanding conditions of an indie horror shoot.

Alongside the horror project, Ferreira is starring in Mile End Kicks, a romantic comedy set in Montreal that premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival and is releasing in April 2026.

Reflecting on her exit from Euphoria, Ferreira explained that while she would have stayed if the role allowed her to grow, she ultimately wanted to pursue opportunities that showcased her range. She said the show was no longer giving her that space creatively, adding that what matters most to her is continuing to evolve as an actor.

With two very different films arriving back-to-back, Ferreira’s post-Euphoria career is already showing a clear shift, one focused on versatility, creative control, and taking on roles that challenge her as a performer.
