Sony may launch three PS6 models including handheld and lite version, leak suggests
Leak suggests Sony could release three PS6 models including handheld and lower-cost console option

Sony is reportedly planning a multi-device approach for its next generation of PlayStation hardware, according to a new leak.
The claim suggests the company could release three separate PlayStation 6 systems, including a standard console, a lower-cost variant and a handheld device.
The information comes from the YouTube channel Moore’s Law is Dead, where the host outlined potential specifications and pricing estimates for the future lineup.
According to the leak, the proposed devices include a “PS6 S” or Lite model, a dedicated handheld system and a full PlayStation 6 console.
The report indicates that both the Lite console and handheld may use AMD’s “Canis” chipset, while the flagship console would feature a more powerful “Orion” CPU.
The Orion-based system could also launch in two configurations, mirroring the PlayStation 5 with disc and digital-only editions.
Estimated pricing for the range varies significantly, with projections between $350 and $1,000 depending on hardware specifications and market conditions.
The Lite model is expected to fall between $349 and $549, the handheld between $499 and $699, and the full console between $699 and $999. These figures are based on component costs and potential tariff scenarios, according to the source.
Previous leaks suggest the Canis chip could outperform the Xbox Series S and Nintendo’s next-generation hardware, while remaining slightly less powerful than the base PS5.
Sony has not confirmed any details about the PlayStation 6. However, PlayStation architect Mark Cerny previously stated that the next-generation console is still several years away. Current speculation points to a release window around 2027 or 2028, though this remains unverified.
