PTI protest deferred on Imran's instructions
CM cites national interest, hints at future mobilisation

Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Afridi has revealed that, on Imran Khan's instructions and keeping in view the prevailing international situation, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf planned protest has been postponed.
"In such circumstances, postponing the protest is a manifestation of Pakistan's larger interest, national responsibility, and high-mindedness," he said.
"It proves that Imran Khan always places the interest of the state and the nation above his personal or political gains."
He said that the message received from Imran Khan in Adiala Jail carries extraordinary importance in the current national and international context.
Addressing a press conference at the Chief Minister's House in Peshawar on Thursday, Afridi stated that the acceptance and respect Pakistan is receiving today on regional and global stages is the direct result of the consistent policy founded by Imran Khan in 2002.
He pointed out that the consequences of wrong decisions made in the past have been directly and indirectly affecting K-P and the entire country for the last 21 years, and Pakistan has still not fully emerged from their fallout.
On regional policy, the Chief Minister said the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa government wants to move forward with Afghanistan through meaningful negotiations and dialogue to ensure durable peace in the region, particularly in the province.
He called for the inclusion of provincial political leaders, tribal elders, and local influencers, who have deep social, cultural, and familial ties with the Afghan people, rather than mere ceremonial or ineffective representation. "Without taking into account Pashtun society's traditions, values, jirga system, and mutual relationships, no negotiation process can yield the desired results," Afridi added.
The Chief Minister further disclosed that Imran Khan has directed the holding of a major public gathering in K-P soon, and all political decisions will be made through collective wisdom.
"All decisions regarding protests and public meetings will be taken according to Imran Khan's directives. We do not consider ourselves bigger leaders than him; we are his soldiers," Afridi said.
He cautioned that if PTI continues to be pushed against the wall and subjected to discriminatory treatment, the party will launch a strong protest under its constitutional and legal rights.
Afridi concluded by saying that the message received from Adiala Jail showed Imran Khan's satisfaction with their efforts. "This trust has not only encouraged us but has also infused new energy and passion into the provincial leadership," he added.
While acknowledging that the international appreciation Pakistan is receiving is a matter of pride, the Chief Minister stressed that democratic values, political freedom, and human rights must also be protected within the country.
