CM's aide condemns Punjab govt, Adiala Jail for negligence

Special Assistant to the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister on Information and Public Relations, Shafi Jan, has strongly condemned the Punjab government and Adiala Jail administration for what he called "regrettable and condemnable" negligence in the eye condition of Bushra Bibi, wife of PTI founder chairman Imran Khan.
In a press statement issued on Friday, Shafi Jan expressed serious concern over the repeated negligence shown by the Punjab government and jail authorities towards the health of both Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi. He said that due to the lack of timely and quality medical facilities, Bushra Bibi's eye condition deteriorated significantly, eventually requiring emergency hospitalization and eye surgery.
"The process of shifting Bushra Bibi to the hospital was kept secret and she was not provided timely medical treatment. This constitutes a serious violation of human rights," Shafi Jan stated.
He added that ignoring basic human values in the face of political differences is deeply unfortunate and unacceptable. "Bushra Bibi is a non-political woman. The treatment meted out to her is highly inappropriate and against democratic traditions and human principles," he remarked.
Shafi Jan further asserted that the tactics being employed to weaken Imran Khan have failed in the past and will continue to fail in the future. "Weakening Imran Khan remains a mere dream of the federal and Punjab governments, which will never be realized," he declared.
