KARACHI:

The Karachi Transport Ittehad has demanded that the recent increase in fuel prices be withdrawn immediately, otherwise bus, minibus, and coach operators will be justified in deciding their future course of action.

According to a statement issued by the transport body, a meeting was recently held at the central office of the Karachi Transport Ittehad in light of the continuous rise in fuel prices in the past. The meeting was chaired by the organisation's president, Haji Muhammad Tawab Khan.

Patron-in-Chief Mahmood Afridi, General Secretary Muhammad Ilyas, as well as Muhammad Farooq, Syed Zakar Shah, Abdul Kabir Khan, Khayal Muhammad, Nadeem Afzal, and a large number of transporters attended the meeting.

During the meeting, participants discussed the recent Rs55 increase in petroleum product prices and expressed serious concern that from January 1 to early March this year, fuel prices have increased by a total of Rs78.78.
