Jacob Tierney praises Connor Storrie and Hudson Williams' chemistry on 'Heated Rivalry'
'I’m obviously so happy for them and I’m thrilled. I think they both deserve it enormously,' Tierney on their fame

Jacob Tierney, who directed the hit series Heated Rivalry, opened up about the “blowup” scenes between Connor Storrie and Hudson Williams, calling their on-screen chemistry truly exceptional. Storrie plays Ilya, the fiercely ambitious young lead, while Williams portrays Shane, his equally determined rival — characters whose rivalry drives much of the show’s tension and drama.
“They were both wonderful separately when they read for the roles, but it was really when they were together that it just felt like, oh, this is something very special,” Tierney said. “Their chemistry was palpable and it was pretty extraordinary. They just met right away, and you wanted to watch the two of them together.”
Tierney also shared some behind-the-scenes fun, highlighting the actors’ off-screen rapport. “It’s bananas is a word I use a lot to describe people’s reaction to them. It’s pretty crazy. Something that came up recently that we were all going and kicking our feet about was when you met Prime Minister Mark Carney and was like, this is my new best friend Hudson.”
He concluded by praising both actors’ dedication and talent: “I’m obviously so happy for them and I’m thrilled. I think they both deserve it enormously. They deserve everything — that’s all the wonderful things that are coming to them.”
