The BAFTA Awards 2026 take place today, Sunday, February 22, at the Royal Festival Hall inside London’s Southbank Centre, celebrating the best in film and television over the past year.

Widely regarded as a major stop in awards season and a key precursor to the Oscars, the ceremony is expected to spotlight leading contenders across multiple categories.

The live broadcast of the BAFTA Awards 2026 begins at 2:00 p.m. ET. In the United Kingdom, viewers can watch the ceremony on BBC One and via the BBC iPlayer streaming platform. Internationally, including in the United States and Mexico, the event will be available through platforms such as HBO Max and YouTube, depending on regional availability.

Organized by the British Academy of Film and Television Arts, the BAFTA Awards honor excellence in acting, directing, screenwriting, cinematography, editing, production design, music and technical crafts. The awards recognize both British and international productions and frequently influence the trajectory of the Academy Awards race.

Among the films leading the nominations this year are “Sentimental Value,” “Sinners,” “Hamnet,” “One Battle After Another” and “Bugonia,” competing in top categories including Best Film and Best Director. Major acting categories feature high-profile nominees such as Timothée Chalamet, Cynthia Erivo, Emma Stone and Leonardo DiCaprio.

With a comprehensive nominees list spanning film, animation, documentary and short film categories, the BAFTA Awards 2026 are set to be one of the most closely watched events of the global awards season.
