ASOS co-founder Quentin Griffiths dies in Thailand
The 58-year-old businessman was found dead below his Pattaya apartment

Quentin Griffiths, co-founder of ASOS, has died in Thailand after reportedly falling from the balcony of his 17th-floor apartment in Pattaya. He was 58.
Emergency responders found his body directly below the building. Local authorities said there were no obvious signs of disturbance inside the apartment, but forensic tests are being conducted and police have not ruled out foul play.
At the time of his death, Griffiths was reportedly involved in an ongoing financial dispute with his ex-wife, who had accused him of taking £500,000 from a company they ran together and forging documents to sell land and shares without her consent. He had previously been arrested for questioning and later released, with the case still pending.
A spokesperson for the UK Foreign Office confirmed it is supporting the family of a British national who died in Thailand and remains in contact with local authorities.
Griffiths co-founded ASOS in 2000 and helped build it into a multibillion-pound online fashion retailer. He left the company in 2005 after its share price tripled on the AIM market.
In 2010, he reportedly made around £15 million through share sales and later sold additional holdings. He also took legal action against his accountants at BDO, alleging their advice cost him more than £4 million in tax related to share sales in ASOS and Achica, another online retailer he co-founded.
Griffiths relocated to Thailand in 2007 following his divorce. He later remarried and had two children. Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding his death.
