Newly released emails from the U.S. Department of Justice indicate that Sarah Ferguson, the former Duchess of York, once asked convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein to hire her as his house assistant because she “desperately” needed money, a revelation that adds fresh scrutiny to longstanding questions about her past ties to the disgraced financier.

The email, dated May 16, 2010, was exchanged after Epstein had served a 13‑month jail sentence following his conviction for soliciting and procuring an underage girl for prostitution. In the message, Ferguson wrote, “But why I don’t understand, don’t you just get me to be your House Assistant. I am the most capable and desperately need the money. Please Jeffrey think about it,” suggesting she was seeking employment directly with him.

The correspondence is part of a massive tranche of documents released by the Department of Justice that shed light on Epstein’s network of contacts and communications with high‑profile figures. In other emails from 2009 and early 2010, Ferguson appeared to praise Epstein for his “generosity and kindness,” calling him a “legend” and a “friend,” even as Epstein was under house arrest or recently released. She wrote to him that his support had “lifted the energy” around her efforts and expressed gratitude for his perceived help with brand deals.

Ferguson’s request in the house assistant email came at a time when she was reportedly struggling financially, facing significant debts and seeking ways to stabilize her situation. The revelation adds a layer of complexity to her well-documented financial troubles and past controversies.

In past public comments, Ferguson has acknowledged receiving money from Epstein to help pay off debts, and at times has expressed regret for her association with him. She has said she “abhors pedophilia” and called her connection with the financier a mistake after he was convicted.
