The Devil Wears Prada 2 trailer reunites Anne Hathaway, Meryl Streep and Emily Blunt
The sequel teases shifting power dynamics inside Runway magazine as familiar faces collide again

The first trailer for The Devil Wears Prada 2 has been released, marking the return of Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway and Emily Blunt to the sharply dressed world of Runway magazine nearly two decades after the original film’s debut.
Set for release on May 1, 2026, the sequel finds Miranda Priestly still at the helm of Runway but facing a very different industry. With print journalism on the decline, Miranda is forced to navigate shrinking influence and financial pressure while attempting to keep her authority intact.
Her biggest challenge comes from a familiar face. Emily Charlton, once Miranda’s overworked assistant, is now a powerful executive at a luxury conglomerate controlling the advertising revenue Miranda needs to survive.
Their clash forms the central conflict of the film, turning former workplace hierarchy into an all-out battle for relevance and control.
Anne Hathaway returns as Andrea Sachs, whose journey in the original film followed a young journalism graduate struggling to balance ambition with personal integrity. While the trailer offers only glimpses of Andy’s role this time around, her presence signals unfinished business in the Runway universe.
The sequel brings back several original cast members, including Stanley Tucci, Tracie Thoms and Tibor Feldman, while introducing a large ensemble of new faces. Adrian Grenier, who played Andy’s boyfriend Nate, does not appear in the follow-up.
David Frankel returns to direct, with Aline Brosh McKenna once again handling the screenplay. The film is produced by Wendy Finerman and will be released by 20th Century Studios, promising a timely and stylish update to one of fashion cinema’s most iconic stories.
