Animal Crossing: New Horizons has expanded its in-game features with the arrival of the 3.0 update, introducing additional content and the return of familiar characters. Among them is Resetti, a long-standing figure in the Animal Crossing series who appears in a revised role within New Horizons.

Players may remember Resetti from earlier titles, where he was known for reprimanding players who reset their games. In New Horizons, however, Resetti offers a functional Reset Service that allows players to clear selected areas of their island for a fee. This service is not immediately available upon updating the game and must first be unlocked through gameplay.

Resetti initially appears as a visiting character wandering around the island, similar to other special guests. When players speak to him for the first time, he introduces his Reset Service and explains how it works.

After this initial meeting, Resetti no longer appears regularly on the island. Instead, players receive access to a transceiver, which can be used to summon him when needed. The first day of using the Reset Service is free, while subsequent uses incur a cost.

To activate the service, players must speak with Isabelle at Resident Services and pay 60,000 Bells. This payment grants a full day of reset access.

Players can choose to reset the entire island, only the beaches, or a specific location. For targeted resets, the transceiver must be used in the selected area, followed by confirmation of the request.

Once activated, Resetti removes furniture, placed items, ladders, flowers and bugs from the chosen location. Trees, crops and weeds remain untouched. This allows players to redesign areas without permanently altering the island’s natural layout.
