Global technology research company System Application Products (SAP) and Chief Information Officer (CIO) magazine recently hosted an event in Lahore to identify hindrances in business practice in Pakistan and generate effective strategies which can be implemented to overcome hurdles.

The discussion, “The future of business,” primarily focused on optimising business operations with special reference to the new budget which has allocated Rs718 million on information technology and telecommunications, out of a total development budget of Rs663 billion.

Rabia Garib, Editor-in Chief of CIO Pakistan commenting on the new budget said that “the annual budget helps to determine what the IT expenditure for the next fiscal year will be like. If organizations want to increase the competitive index, it is important to ascertain what the budget enables and hinders in terms of their growth potential.”

CIO Pakistan is the local edition of one of the world’s leading technology media, events, and research groups. The magazine was established in 2008 and since then has been providing technology related information to local companies in order to facilitate them in the field of IT.

The host of the event, SAP, is headquartered in Germany and is present in more than 50 countries worldwide. SAP aims at distributing development across the world in strategically important markets.
