An official soundtrack for the hit queer hockey drama Heated Rivalry is set to be released later this week, Billboard has reported.

The Jacob Tierney–directed Crave original series, which premiered in November and streams on HBO Max in the United States, stars Connor Storrie and Hudson Williams and has rapidly built a large international fanbase. Much of the show’s popularity has been fueled by its music, including both its original score and carefully chosen needle drops that have gone viral on streaming platforms.

According to Billboard, the Heated Rivalry (Original Series Soundtrack) was composed by Peter Peter and will be released on all major streaming services via Milan Records on Friday, January 16. Two tracks from the project — “Rivalry” and “It’s You” — are already available to stream. A vinyl edition of the soundtrack is also currently in development.

Tierney told Billboard that music played a central role in shaping the series from its earliest stages. He credited Peter’s score with driving the emotional tone of the show, saying the music does more than accompany scenes and instead helps define the rhythm and emotional pulse of the story.

The soundtrack is designed to mirror both the high-intensity environment of professional hockey and the electronic, nightclub-inspired settings featured in the series. It also traces the progression of the central romance throughout the show’s first season. In addition to the original score, Heated Rivalry has gained attention for its use of licensed tracks, including t.A.T.u.’s “All the Things She Said,” which Billboard previously reported received significant streaming increases following its placement in the series.

Peter told Billboard that working on the project allowed him to explore new creative territory, describing the experience as one that pushed him beyond his previous compositional boundaries. He said he aimed to deliver his strongest work for Tierney and author Rachel Reid, whose novel Game Changers served as the basis for the series.

The full soundtrack features more than 30 tracks, including “Face-Off,” “Inferno,” “Strangers on the Ice,” and “Hollanov,” reflecting both the competitive tension and emotional depth that have helped make Heated Rivalry a breakout success.
