Dave Portnoy slams Tiger Woods over DUI crash, urging accountability and raising concerns about safety risks

Dave Portnoy has publicly criticized Tiger Woods following the golfer’s recent DUI-related crash, adding to growing backlash surrounding the incident.
Speaking on his Wake Up Barstool show, Portnoy questioned Woods’ judgment and expressed frustration over the situation. He emphasized that there is “no excuse” for driving while impaired, regardless of personal struggles. Portnoy argued that Woods, given his resources, could easily arrange for alternative transportation instead of putting lives at risk.
The media personality went further, stating he has “no sympathy” for the golf icon and suggesting legal consequences may be necessary to prompt accountability. He highlighted the broader danger impaired driving poses to the public, stressing that such actions could have resulted in far more serious outcomes.
The incident reportedly occurred on March 27 near Woods’ home, where he was involved in a crash after attempting to pass another vehicle. According to reports, authorities later found hydrocodone, a prescription painkiller, in his possession. Officers noted signs of impairment, although Woods reportedly attributed the crash to distraction while using his phone. He was subsequently charged with DUI and failure to submit to testing before being released on bail.
The situation has also drawn commentary from former golfer Brandel Chamblee, who suggested Woods consider retirement, citing ongoing physical struggles and concerns about his well-being.
Sources close to Woods indicate he values privacy and prefers not to employ a driver, a decision that has raised further questions following multiple incidents. As criticism continues, the case has reignited discussions around celebrity accountability and road safety.
