Concerns about another potential delay for Grand Theft Auto VI have resurfaced following new comments from industry insider Jason Schreier.

Despite Rockstar Games targeting a November 19, 2026 release date, Schreier claims development may still be ongoing in key areas, making the timeline uncertain.

Speaking on the Button Mash podcast, the Bloomberg reporter said that, based on conversations with developers close to the project, GTA 6 is reportedly not yet “content complete.” This suggests that missions, levels, and possibly features are still being finalized, even though the game is less than a year away from its planned launch.

Schreier noted that ongoing content work makes it difficult for Rockstar to confidently commit to its current release window. According to him, no one at the studio could say with absolute certainty that the game will be ready by November 2026. While such development timelines are not unusual for a project of this scale, they do increase the risk of further delays.

GTA 6 has already faced multiple setbacks since its initial reveal in December 2023, when it was first given a 2025 release window. The game was later delayed to May 2026 before being pushed again to November 2026. Schreier’s comments contrast with claims from other insiders who believe the release date will hold.

The stakes for Rockstar are exceptionally high, as GTA 6 is widely projected to become the biggest entertainment launch in history. Schreier emphasized that the studio is unlikely to release the game in anything less than a polished state.

Rockstar Games has not commented publicly on the latest speculation. For now, the November 2026 release date remains official, but uncertainty continues as development reportedly carries on behind the scenes.
