'The Voice' alum Kata Hay arrested on vehicular homicide warrant in Tennessee case
Police say 'The Voice' contestant Kata Hay was arrested in Oklahoma on Tennessee vehicular homicide warrant

Kata Hay, an aspiring singer who competed on The Voice in 2016, was arrested on Wednesday on a vehicular homicide warrant, the Goodlettsville Police Department in Tennessee has confirmed. Hay, whose legal name is Kata Huddleston, was taken into custody in Oklahoma following a public appeal by police seeking information on her whereabouts.
Earlier in the week, Goodlettsville police shared a photograph of Hay on Facebook and asked members of the public to assist in locating her. In the post, officers said they had reason to believe she was travelling towards Oklahoma with a white male and may have been towing a large camper.
Authorities later confirmed that Hay, an Oklahoma native, was located in her home state and arrested by a local sheriff’s deputy in the early hours of Wednesday morning. In a follow-up statement, the police department thanked citizens who provided tips, saying the information directly contributed to her arrest. Police added that Hay will be extradited back to Davidson County, Tennessee.
According to TMZ, Hay also has an open DUI case and faces additional charges connected to a December 10 incident. These include leaving the scene of an accident involving property damage estimated at more than $1,500 and allegedly driving with an open container of alcohol. The vehicular homicide warrant is related to the same incident, according to the report.
Court records cited by TMZ also state that Hay was arrested and convicted in 2022 for having sexual contact with a minor, for which she was sentenced to six months in jail.
Hay appeared on season 10 of The Voice, where three coaches turned their chairs during her blind audition performance of “Redneck Woman”. She advanced to the top 20 before being eliminated during the live playoffs.
TMZ reports that Hay is scheduled to appear before a district court judge in Oklahoma on Monday to sign a waiver of extradition.
