Nick Reiner, the son of filmmaker Rob Reiner and photographer Michele Singer Reiner, has been arrested following the deaths of his parents, according to Los Angeles County jail records.

Rob Reiner, 78, and Michele Singer Reiner, 68, were found dead on Sunday at their Brentwood home, prompting an ongoing investigation by the Los Angeles Police Department.

Jail records indicate that Nick Reiner, 32, was taken into custody Sunday night and booked on a felony charge listed as “gang activity.” Authorities have not provided details about the charge, and it remains unclear whether the arrest is directly related to the deaths. Bail has been set at $4 million. An LAPD spokesperson said Monday that the department could not immediately confirm further information regarding the arrest or Reiner’s status in the homicide investigation.

Earlier Sunday afternoon, the Los Angeles Fire Department responded to a medical aid call at the couple’s residence around 3:30 p.m. Upon arrival, first responders found a man and a woman deceased, later identified as Rob Reiner and Michele Singer Reiner. LAPD detectives from the robbery-homicide division are investigating the case as an apparent homicide. Multiple media outlets have reported that the victims suffered injuries consistent with a knife attack.

Law enforcement sources have confirmed that a family member was interviewed in connection with the case, though police previously stated they were not actively seeking a suspect or person of interest.
