Josh Hutcherson, best known for his role in The Hunger Games, sparked debate among Taylor Swift fans after clarifying in a recent interview that he is not a Swiftie.

The actor appeared on i-D magazine’s “Camera Roll Roulette” segment with Jordan Firstman, where a question about his fandom status went viral on social media.

During the segment, Hutcherson shared a photo from Swift’s 2024 Eras Tour, showing himself with his mother at the concert. Firstman called it “really cute,” prompting Hutcherson to explain that his mom had taken him. When asked if he was a Swiftie, he responded, “I’m not a Swiftie. Very much not. No shade, all respect, but definitely not.” Firstman jokingly replied, “A little tiny shade. She can handle a little bit of shade.”

The clip quickly circulated online, drawing mixed reactions from fans. Some criticized Hutcherson, claiming he attended the Eras Tour for attention rather than genuine interest in Swift’s music. Social media users described the moment as “pathetic” or “two-faced,” while others questioned why he would leverage the tour’s popularity.

However, many defended Hutcherson, noting he did not insult Taylor Swift herself, only clarified his fandom status. One fan wrote, “Just because he’s not a Swiftie, it doesn’t mean he did not have a good time or enjoy himself.” Another commented that he was likely referring to Swifties, not Swift personally.

Hutcherson has attended multiple Eras Tour shows, including the New Orleans stop, where he exchanged friendship bracelets with Swift while filming Five Nights at Freddy’s 2. Despite the online debate, Hutcherson’s remarks appear to have been a candid clarification rather than criticism of the pop star or her fanbase.
