Cillian Murphy returns as Tommy Shelby, marking his first appearance in the franchise since the series concluded in 2022. The film is described as an “epic continuation” of the Peaky Blinders saga, once again immersing viewers in the violent, lawless streets of 1900s Birmingham. While the plot remains tightly under wraps, Netflix has emphasized that the movie will serve as a direct narrative extension of the original series.

Sophie Rundle reprises her role as Ada Thorne, alongside returning cast members Stephen Graham, Ned Dennehy, Packy Lee, and Ian Peck. New additions to the ensemble include Rebecca Ferguson, Barry Keoghan, Tim Roth, and Jay Lycurgo, adding fresh energy to the established world.

Tom Harper, who directed several episodes of the original series, returns to helm the film. The project reunites Harper with series creator Steven Knight and star Cillian Murphy—an announcement that generated significant excitement among fans. Netflix shared a behind-the-scenes image of Murphy and Knight’s reunion on social media, confirming production is underway.

Murphy previously stated that Tommy Shelby “wasn’t finished with me,” expressing enthusiasm about returning to the character and collaborating with Knight and Harper.

With its celebrated cast, new creative momentum, and a global streaming rollout, The Immortal Man stands as one of Netflix’s most anticipated releases of 2026.
