NBA player Iman Shumpert accused of hitting and dragging woman during dispute at Georgia home
Police were called to NBA player Iman Shumpert’s Georgia home after a woman accused him of hitting and dragging her

Former NBA player Iman Shumpert has been accused of physically assaulting a woman during a confrontation at his Georgia residence, according to a CAD police report obtained by Page Six. Authorities in South Fulton County responded to Shumpert’s home around 4:37 a.m. on November 26 following reports of a “fight or domestic dispute” between the athlete and a woman identified as Joanna Donnejour.
As reported by TMZ, officers arrived to find Shumpert shirtless and moving a suitcase outside. He told police he had repeatedly asked Donnejour to leave his home. Donnejour told officers the dispute escalated after she confronted Shumpert about allegedly communicating with another woman. She claimed he “dragged” her by her wrist and foot toward the stairs and also “hit her.”
Another individual at the scene told police the pair had been arguing and said Shumpert grabbed Donnejour’s wrist to remove her from the house, but described the action as non-aggressive. Officers reported seeing no visible injuries on Donnejour.
Body camera footage obtained by TMZ showed Donnejour speaking with police and declining to exit the home when initially instructed. After gathering her belongings, she eventually left the residence and told Shumpert, “See you in court and on Instagram in the morning.”
In a statement to Page Six, Shumpert said the situation began after a guest damaged his property. He added that police assessed the incident, spoke with multiple witnesses, and asked Donnejour to leave. “This matter was quickly closed that night by the police after they did their investigation,” he said.
Shumpert, 35, was previously married to singer Teyana Taylor from 2016 to 2023. The former couple share two daughters, Junie and Rue. Taylor has previously accused Shumpert of emotional abuse during their marriage. She is currently in a relationship with actor Aaron Pierre.
